As discussed on March 30 during the Capital Improvement Project update, Duluth and Johns Creek are submitting an application for a $3.5 million Atlanta Regional Commission infrastructure grant for the Rogers Bridge Restoration project. According to Duluth’s Community Development Director Nick Colonna, this was strongly encouraged by the ARC. The grant would cover $3.1 million of construction costs minus the local match of $700,000 which would be shared between Duluth and Johns Creek.
Staff provided a brief overview of the application and agreement at the April 27 city council meeting. Due to competing grants, Duluth is the lead applicant and anticipates the agreement to be signed in conjunction with Johns Creek. The Duluth City Council will place the agreement on the May 11 council meeting agenda for an official vote.
