Merchants along Main Street in Duluth have expressed some concerns regarding the retaining walls that are part of the design layout of Main Street - Phase I. The project between Knox Street and State Route 120 consists of wider sidewalks, parallel parking and landscaping.
After reviewing several options, The Duluth City Council recommended Tuesday to remove the retaining wall in front of Eye Candy and Peace, Love & Decorating and add stairs along this portion of the project. This would also reduce the pronunciation of the wall. The council will revisit the issue at the next city council meeting March 9.
