Duluth completed the closing Friday on the future downtown site of a Pure Taqueria restaurant.

The 2,700-square-foot eatery will sit on vacant property, appraised at $55,100, at Ga. 120 and Main Street, next to the Red Clay Theatre.

The city has been in talks with the restaurant chain for the past two years.

Duluth officials expect the free-standing restaurant, within view of Buford Highway, will drive foot traffic downtown, and the sale of the property will help pay for renovation efforts of the Red Clay Theatre.
