Duluth City Council to discuss big developments around town
Duluth will hold public hearings to discuss the proposed 2016 millage rate at 10 a.m. Aug. 8 and 7 p.m. Aug. 22 in the Community Room at City Hall, 3167 Main St.
Duluth has tentatively adopted a millage rate that will require an increase in property taxes by 15.78 percent. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 6.551 mills, an increase of 0.893 mills, the millage rate increase above the rollback rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.658 mills.
The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $71.44 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $202,000 is approximately $72.15.
