Duluth is seeking volunteers interested in serving on the city’s Citizen’s Budget Review Advisory Committee. Previous budget committees represented a cross section of the community and provided helpful feedback and recommendations on ways the city can be more efficient and effective. Duluth will begin its 9th collaboration with the committee on Feb. 19 for the FY2021 budget.

The first meeting establishes an overview of the city’s budget process and what the budget committee’s role will be in the process. Participants will be given the city’s current operating budget (FY2020) and 10-year forecast presentation for review and discussion at the next meeting.

The second meeting on Feb. 26 involves a review of draft figures for the preliminary FY2021 budget, debt service commitments, city initiatives, as well as information relating to Capital Reserve funds.

The third meeting on March 4 is geared toward recommendations from the committee, addressing any concerns with the budget and discussion of visionary opportunities for the city.

To participate contact Kim Jackson at kjackson@duluthga.net or 770-497-5321.
