The Duluth City Council voted June 8 to approve $99,975 for asphalt rejuvenation as part of Duluth’s Pavement Preservation program. Asphalt rejuvenation includes applying a penetrating sealer to pavement that replaces ingredients lost over time as the result of exposure to sun and weather. Application of this treatment at the right time extends the service life of the road and helps reduce maintenance costs. The current project encompasses 18 streets, almost 7 miles of Duluth roadway.

Pavement Technology Incorporated of Covington was the only bidder for the project. The project will be funded by SPLOST dollars.
