Following a recent public hearing the Duluth City Council approved zoning changes for just under one acre of land on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard approximately 700 feet north of North Berkeley Lake Road and .77 of an acre on North Berkeley Lake Road approximately 600 feet west of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

The request from Berkeley Summit, LLC is to build one 8,200 square feet residential housing unit on the combined land. Existing nearby businesses include an auto center, gas station and small strip mall facing Peachtree Industrial. A neighborhood is situated behind the property. There is a stream that runs through the site with a 75-foot buffer. The city will require review of any variance request related to the stream once it has been initiated.
