According to Duluth Parks and Recreation staff, the Bunten Road Park HVAC system has surpassed its operational performance life expectancy. The Duluth City Council recently approved $424,525 to replace the system and refurbish all power induction units and variable air volume boxes in lieu of replacement.

The city received four proposals, three of which were deemed complete. The city chose to award the contract to low bidder MSI- Mechanical Services Inc. for $375,500 plus 10 a percent contingency of $37,550 for a total not to exceed $413,050 for the Bunten HVAC technology upgrade. An additional $11,475 was added for construction administration for a total project budget of $424,525.
