Following a series of public hearings, the Duluth City Council voted to adopt the fiscal year 2020 Annual Budget.

The budget includes the addition of two full time employees, one camera monitoring technician for the police department and one full-time code enforcement officer. In addition, four part-time positions will be converted to full-time. The budget also reflects an employer health insurance increase and a three percent merit increase for all full-time and permanent part-time employees. Other items of note include $82,000 for vehicle replacement. $30,000 of that total wiill replace a crew cab truck for the public works department. Another $52,000 will replace the building inspectors’ truck, the license compliance inspectors vehicle, and purchase a new truck for the new code compliance officer.
