The construction of a pocket park and trailhead at 3545 McClure Woods Drive is the next step in a multi-step process to connect the Willbrooke neighborhood to downtown Duluth. The Duluth City Council recently voted unanimously to approve a $272,565 contract with A-1 Contracting for construction of the park, the trail and traffic calming devices.

The city received nine bids for the work plus alternates ranging from $218,052 to $642,759. Due to the large variability in bids, staff is requesting a 25 percent contingency be made available, rather than a 10 percent contingency, for a total not to exceed $272, 565. Monies not used will return to the city’s account.
