Three bridge railings need replacement in Duluth’s Bunten Road Park. The wooden bollard bridge railings along the asphalt walking path have exceeded their life expectancy and will be replaced with steel railings. In addition, two of the three bridges will require substantial bank stabilization thanks to extensive erosion.

The city received one quote to perform the work from Ohmshiv Construction for $92,600, which includes a base bid of $69,600 and $23,000 for asphalt repair. The city council voted recently to approve up to $111,120 of SPLOST funds, which includes a 20 percent contingency for geo-tech testing and any unexpected expenses, for the Bunten Bridge Railing Replacement project.
