Duluth and Notre Dame Academy at 4635 River Green Parkway have an agreement for use of Scott Hudgens Park for the 2014/2105 school year. As part of their current expansion, Notre Dame Academy constructed stairs and a gate to access the park from their property without the city’s knowledge. A survey of the area revealed a portion of the stairs and gate are constructed on city property and terminate into an area of the park where future pedestrian access will be discouraged.
Duluth has developed a temporary agreement to allow the stairs and gate to remain until May 2015. Once final design for the park is complete, the city will work with the school to determine if any appropriate areas exist to allow access from their property.
