Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris’s State of the City address last week highlighted the city’s “mojo magic” with examples including a reminder Duluth sits on top of the Eastern Continental Divide and revealing a future tag line: ‘Follow the divide to good music.”

Among 2014 accomplishments Harris noted various art and music opportunities, especially the Duluth Fall Festival. She added the city’s recent installation of $300,000 SPLOST-funded signage, stormwater infrastructure improvements, parks, public art and a reputation for safety among achievements.

Looking forward, Harris discussed the $98 million mixed-use development coming to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Sugarloaf Parkway, the green median project and code enforcement efforts along Buford Highway, a renovation of Rogers Bridge and increased efforts to address diversity as well as ongoing crime prevention.
