The city of Duluth recently approved an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 budget to accept funds raised following the sale of retired police vehicles. Based on police department policies for vehicle retirement, six police vehicles were sent to auction earlier this year. After commissions and fees, the city received $12,075 from the auction company.

In order to continue maintaining a police vehicle fleet that is low maintenance and dependable, the police department requested the $12,075 be added to the Police Vehicles, Consolidated Vehicle Maintenance, line item within the budget to be used to purchase another vehicle.
