The Duluth City Council recently accepted donations from the Fall Festival Committee and Spirited Quilters Guild.

Each year the city hosts an annual tree lighting on the Town Green to ring in the Christmas season. The city has accepted $3,000 from the Fall Festival Committee to support the event, titled “Deck the Hall,” which will take place on Dec 3.

The Duluth Spirited Quilters Guild has donated $250 for youth scholarship opportunities for children in the community. The donated funds assist in supporting opportunities for youth participation in the Parks and Recreation Summer Camp Program as well as for teen participation in the Bunten Basketball league.

The Spirited Quilters Guild also donated a quilt ‘Christmas Stars” to the Parks and Recreation Department for a raffle. The drawing for the quilt will be Dec. 12 at the city council meeting.
