A motorist was killed early Wednesday when he lost control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving and crashed into a tree in DeKalb County.
DeKalb police Detective Lorentz Armstrong said the 47-year-old man was westbound on U.S. 78 at Brockett Road when he lost control of the 2000 Toyota 4Runner “possibly due to the wet pavement.”
The SUV skidded off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, Armstrong said.
The driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene of the 5 a.m. crash.
