A 23-year-old Roswell man was killed early Saturday after the car he was driving left the road and crashed, Sandy Springs police said.

Officers responded about 3 a.m. to the 5000 block of Roswell Road, Sgt. Sam Worsham said in a statement. They saw the car overturned and off the road.

“The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle left the roadway after failing to negotiate a curve,” Worsham said.

The driver, identified as Kevin Gerard Austin II, was dead at the scene, police said, and the only passenger was taken to WellStar North Fulton Hospital. The passenger’s condition is not known.

Two utility poles and a brick wall were damaged in the incident, Worsham said.

The investigation is ongoing.
