A driver overcome by a medical emergency lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a public pool in DeKalb County on Friday night, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The incident happened on Clifton Springs Road near Gresham Road.

Police said the man crashed through the fence and into the pool, which was closed.

A good Samaritan pulled him out of the water, Channel 2 said.

"I was like, 'Oh my God,' I was about to cry, but then we moved closer and saw him moving and we had a sigh of release," witness Teri Johnson told Channel 2.

The driver is being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
