Police say a driver was shot and killed, then thrown out of his car during a possible carjacking.
The deadly shooting happened along Garibaldi Street overnight in southwest Atlanta.
Police say they received a 911 call about a carjacking in the area and when officers arrived, they found a man's body in the street.
Witnesses told investigators there were five people inside the car, including the victim who was driving. Someone inside the car opened fire and shot the man at least once and dumped his body into the road.
"The victim was thrown out of the vehicle, another individual fled on foot out of the vehicle which would now just leaves just three people left inside the car," said Atlanta Police Lt. Charles Hampton.
Investigators searched around the area where they found the man but came up empty handed and found no evidence left behind at the scene.
Authorities are searching for the three people who were in the car.
Police believe their victim is in his late 20's.
