Alpharetta city officials are warning of road closures downtown this weekend in conjunction with the Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival.

Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Milton Avenue will be shut down between Ga. 9/Main Street and Roswell/Canton Street. Old Roswell Street will close between Roswell Street and Milton Avenue. The closures will stay in place until 4 a.m. Sunday.

The Old Roswell Street parking lot behind several downtown businesses will be unavailable effective 5 a. m. Friday reopening Sunday morning. On-street parking along Milton Avenue and Old Roswell Street also will be off-limits.

Officials said the festival will result in heavy congestion and motorists should take alternate routes.
