A main road in Acworth’s downtown is closed and will stay that way about a month, local police said.

Acworth police spokeswoman Cpl. Youlanda Leverette said the road was closed Monday.

It is shut down, she said, so crews can build a bridge over the train tracks on that stretch of road.

There has been other construction on Lemon, which connects to Cherokee Street and Southside Drive.

The police department posted a detour map on Facebook.
