Certain special education records will be destroyed in September by the Douglas County School System Program for Exceptional Children.

Since the records of students, who were born between Sept. 1, 1993 and Sept. 1, 1994, are no longer needed for education planning purposes, they will be destroyed on Sept. 1.

However, their permanent records of attendance will be maintained.

Those records will be available to the student or parent upon request, but identification will be required.
