In a meeting last month for the Doraville Urban Redevelopment Agency, board of commissioners for the city agreed to contract with the Bleakly Advisory Group to produce a plan to develop improvement to Doraville land near its MARTA station.

Doraville city council decided in December to award the project to Bleakly Advisory Group after the company submitted the lowest bid proposal to create a redevelopment plan for Doraville. The city plans to use the redevelopment plan to create a Tax Allocation District for the area proposed for redevelopment.

Georgia law requires the plan be submitted to the state before a TAD can be created. Once the TAD is in place, the city will have funds from the taxes raised to assist the city’s redevelopment project. The URA usually meets once every month to monitor the progress of the plan.
