On Dec. 31, the City of Doraville will annex 500 acres of an industrial area along the west side of I-85 between Gwinnett County and Chamblee-Tucker Road.

The annexation follows voters’ approval on a referendum on Election Day allowing local taxes to apply the Freeport Exemption.

The exemption is expected to attract manufacturing and logistics businesses. It applies to finished goods stored in Georgia within the last 12 months and destined for shipment out of state.
