The Doraville City Council held a first reading of an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 budget during the meeting Monday. The city’s overall budget of $14,803,430 was approved in June. If passed, the city’s amended budget will be $15,535,416, an increase of $731,986. The council will have a second reading during the city council meeting Oct. 17.

The also commended two members of the city’s staff.

Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman presented Anisa Palmer with a proclamation in recognition of her service to breast cancer awareness and education. Doraville Summer Camp Director Kim Peddrew also received a proclamation for her work with the city’s youngest citizens.
