Gwinnett Commissioners recently accept a donation of nine foam dinosaur replicas and associated mountings from NDI Development, to be used in conjunction with a previously awarded grant called ‘Meet Me in the Park.’ The dinosaurs will be featured throughout the parks system as part of the grants initiative to engage all ages to utilize the parks for fitness and exploration. The estimated value of the donation is $10,000.

The dinosaur replica statues will be placed at various trail locations to encourage people to hike the trail, find the dinosaurs and learn about them through interpretive signage.

The National Recreation and Park Association collaborated with The Walt Disney Company to expand the Meet Me at the Park program by awarding grants to 25 local communities that will improve access to inclusive play and physical activity for kids and families. Grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 are supporting play spaces, trail enhancements, sport field enhancements and mobile play.
