An approximately 2,400-gallon diesel fuel spill was reported Friday morning at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Gwinnett County printing plant.

Leadership at the plant, which is located at 6455 Best Friend Road in Norcross, was notified that the fuel leaked overnight into “two sanitary sewer drains in one of our mechanical rooms,” Andy McDill, senior director of communications for Cox Media Group, which includes the AJC, said in a statement.

The AJC immediately alerted Gwinnett County authorities, McDill said.

No injuries were reported and the situation is under investigation.

“Protecting the environment is a primary focus for Cox, our parent company, and we are taking the necessary steps to eliminate any further leaks from the diesel system,” McDill said. “The diesel fuel is currently being used to power backup generators.”
