The Alpharetta City Council voted Monday to deny without prejudice a request from Peachtree Residential Properties for an extension on its plans to build  townhomes on a 4-acre site on Canton Street. The extension had been denied at a previous meeting last month.

The latest city action -- denying without prejudice -- gives the developer an opportunity to submit another zoning application for construction without waiting a full year. The developer has agreed to demolish two existing structures on the property.
