It will be a few more weeks before Gwinnett Technical College announces details of what it wants to locate a $42.5 million satellite campus in North Fulton County.

College President Sharon Bartels presented an overview of the project to the north Fulton mayors during their monthly meeting Thursday morning as expected.

But Bartels and members of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, which are helping draft the college’s request of what it needs in land and money to build the new campus, were not ready to announce specifics.

That information should be ready within the month and will be released to all of the cities at the same time.

The cities will have 90 days to prepare their offers to the college, which will review them for presentation to state leaders next year. Actual construction of any new site is at least a year or two away.

Still, three cities – Alpharetta, Roswell and Sandy Springs – have announced they will bid on the campus. They want the daily influx of 5,000 students to boost economic development and bragging rights that come with a state college.
