Design services for McDonough intersection approved

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Feb. 18 regular meeting to approve a budget amendment and design services for the planned intersection improvements at Turner Church Road and Hwy. 20 on the east side of McDonough.

A roundabout is to be on that site in the future, according to officials, after the Georgia Department of Transportation installed a temporary four-way stop there recently in response to an increased number of traffic accidents. A temporary signal will be placed there soon and will function until work on the roundabout is begun. The $177,785.89 total design cost required a budget amendment of $101,775 that was taken from another project already completed.
