The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve the schematic design for the rebuild of the East Marietta Library and Cultural Center.

Batson-Cook Company is the architect.

The $1.34 million library/center will be at 2051 Lower Roswell Road in Marietta on the site of the current library.

The present East Marietta Library was built in 1966-67 and renovated in 2009.

Funding will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
