Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education Jim Shelton will be the keynote speaker Friday at Morehouse College’s Black Male Summit.

At the summit, “Black Boys, Black Men and Comprehensive Education: A View From the Front of the Bus,” Shelton is expected to discuss the role of ensuring educational excellence and equity for African-American males.

The summit extends the missions of the Morehouse Research Institute and the Morehouse Male Initiative and serves as a forum to inform public policy and action agendas as they relate to and impact upon African-American boys and men in the educational arena.

Shelton will speak at 11 a.m. at Morehouse’s Executive Leadership Center, 830 Westview Dr.
