Deputy police chief chosen for Powder Springs

Powder Springs Major Matt Boyd has been promoted to be the city’s deputy police chief by Police Chief John Robison.

A major since 2011, Boyd has been with the city’s police department for 16 years.

Before then, Boyd served four years in law enforcement in his hometown of Sylvania in Screven County.

Robison made the announcement during Monday’s city council meeting.
