The public is invited speak out about the general budgets for the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The department and its board of public health will hold a public hearing as the agency begins to plan for the state fiscal year 2013 amended and 2014 general budgets.

The public hearing will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at 2 Peachtree St. N.W. in the fifth floor boardroom.

It will allow the community, interest groups, lawmakers and others to speak out on how to use DPH resources.

Those interested in speaking at the meeting are asked to submit their intention to attend along with a copy of their comments to David Bayne (dmbayne@dhr.state.ga.us) by Aug. 8.
