The Department of Driver Services computer systems went down statewide Saturday, and it is not known when the system will be operating again, the agency said.

No reason was given for the outage. “I’m not sure when we’ll know exactly what happened,” spokeswoman Susan Sports told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 66 locations statewide are scheduled to reopen Tuesday as usual, Sports said. Customers who didn’t get served Saturday will get “priority service” on Tuesday.

Tuesday is a busy day under normal circumstances at DDS customer locations, so Sports suggested that people wait until later in the week to visit the offices if possible.

The DDS will post updates on its website and social media about the situation, Sports said.

The agency is responsible for issuing driver’s licenses, renewals, and state ID cards.
