A Delta Air Lines plane blew a tire Friday during takeoff at Hartsfield-Jackson International and had to return to the airport, where it landed safely.

Flight 1171, which was en route to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, returned to Atlanta and landed without incident about 1:10 p.m., according to a Delta spokesman. One of the plane’s tires deflated during takeoff.

No injuries were reported.

The MD-88 has been towed to the gate. Delta plans to accommodate the 143 passengers on other flights.

This has been a rough week for Delta, which canceled more than 2,000 flights because of a massive computer outage.
