A Stone Mountain woman has been convicted of multiple felonies in connection with a 2016 armed robbery that left a victim with a broken leg, a release from the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office said.

Arielle McMillan, 28, was convicted of two counts each of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and armed robbery. The verdict was returned on May 10 after a three-day trial.

McMillan and Christopher Donte Evans went to an extended-stay hotel in Duluth shortly after midnight on Nov. 28, 2015. McMillan purchased cocaine from one of the victims and left, according to the release. McMillan returned a few minutes later with two men, one of whom shot the victim in the leg. McMillan took a box containing cash and cocaine while the victim was injured and left, the DA’s office said. Gill’s leg was broken by the gunshot, which hit his thigh.

McMillan nor Evans were arrested immediately following that incident.

The pair went to another victim’s home in Tucker a month later and told him to get on the ground. Evans took the victim’s phone. In March 2016, when McMillan was arrested after a chase on Interstate 285, police found she had been using the victim’s phone since shortly after the December incident.

McMillan was sentenced to 20 years with 15 to serve in prison. Evans pleaded guilty to armed robbery and aggravated assault charges before McMillan’s trial and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 15 years probation.
