The National Purchasing Institute has named DeKalb County’s purchasing and contracting department one of its excellence winners for 2001.

It is the sixth consecutive year the county has won the award, which is based on standardized criteria and recognizes productivity and leadership. The county will receive the award at the institute’s conference later this year.
