DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston will fly to Europe next week to take part in an educational trip about criminal justice reform, her office announced Wednesday.

About two dozen U.S. prosecutors were selected to take part in the week-long trip, which is organized and funded by the nonprofit Fair and Just Prosecution.

The group will meet with judges, prosecutors and public health officials in Lisbon, Portugal. They will also tour prisons and treatment centers and discuss strategies for “smart prosecution” and criminal justice reform, Boston’s office said.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to dialogue with leaders and experts in other countries about their programs and unique approaches to criminal justice reform that may benefit DeKalb County,” Boston said in a statement.
