DeKalb police are investigating fatal shooting Saturday night of an 18-year-old man who was allegedly killed by two apartment security guards, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Authorities told Channel 2 that Ervin Jefferson was shot to death near his home on Pleasant Wood Drive. The guards, who were on duty at the nearby Village at Wesley Chapel Apartments, told police they were checking out a suspicious car at about 10:30 p.m. when they heard gunfire coming from Jefferson’s home.

The guards told police they saw Jefferson leave the home and walk toward them aggressively, while making threats to kill. That’s when the guards drew their weapons and fired at the teen, hitting him in the chest, police told Channel 2.

The guards, who police did not name, told police they heard more gunfire coming from the house, so they ran back to the complex, where they met police.

DeKalb County police did not return numerous calls and an email from the AJC seeking more information on the incident.
