The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will reopen Sugar Creek Golf Course, 2706 Bouldercrest Road on Saturday, according to a press release.

Sugar Creek Golf Course has been closed since fall of 2017. After the completion of a $1.8 million renovation, all 18 holes will reopen for public use. Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The tennis courts on site remained in use through the renovation.

A grand opening will be scheduled in spring 2020.

Upgrades include the installation of new greens and repairs to the golf course bridges, cart paths and irrigation systems. The project utilized $1 million in funding from DeKalb County’s special local option sales tax (SPLOST); $600,000 from DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau; and $174,000 from the DeKalb County general fund.

The 18-hole public golf course opened in 1976. Sugar Creek Golf Club measures 6,717 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 124 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
