DeKalb County will soon accept sealed bids on a .85-acre lot on Flat Shoals Road recently declared as surplus.

The move is in line with the county's Revenue Enhancement Commission, which identified surplus land as a possible new revenue source for the cash-strapped county.

County property records show the land is valued at $6,600. Outside interests have already made inquiries about how to buy the land.
