The cost of an annual membership to a popular DeKalb County senior center is nearly doubling.

The county commission voted Tuesday to raise the annual fee to the Lou Walker Senior Center near Lithonia from $61 to $120. The increase is expected to net the county about $50,000 for recreation services, one of the areas most likely to be hit with cuts in the proposed budget.
