DeKalb County is set to host a socially distanced drive-in movie night and fireworks show the night before Independence Day.

Starting at 7 p.m. on July 3, families can gather at The Gallery at South DeKalb mall for the free celebration, which also promotes participation in the 2020 Census. The mall is located at 2801 Candler Road in the Panthersville area.

Space is limited in the mall’s parking lot; only the first 200 cars and 50 people who walk up will be able to attend, the county said. Popcorn will be served, and residents are encouraged to bring their own (non-alcoholic) drinks. Face masks are mandatory.

Officials have not yet announced what movie will be shown.
