An Olive Garden restaurant near the Mall at Stonecrest has failed its latest health inspection, county records show.

The Italian restaurant earned a 66/U on the inspection, which was conducted on March 14. Violations included improperly stored food items and dirty dishes labeled clean.

A health inspector saw an employee eating in the food preparation area, according to the report. A stack of silverware containers were blocking an employee hand sink, and an employee was later seen washing a dish in the handwashing sink, the report says.

The inspector saw a “pink and black” substance inside an ice bin, according to the report. Raw chicken was also stored above a container of French fries, the report said.

“The results of the latest health inspection did not meet our usual high standards,” an Olive Garden spokesperson said in an email. “We quickly corrected the issues identified and are taking extra steps to prevent this from happening again, including retraining and reinforcing our strict policies and procedures with our team.”

.Restaurants are typically re-inspected within 10 days of a failure.
