Some of DeKalb County’s 70,000 smokers will throw out their cigarettes Friday.

The DeKalb Board of Health and KISS 104.1 FM are encouraging the county’s 70,000 smokers to quit smoking in exchange for concert tickets, T-shirts and other prizes.

The free event is scheduled for noon Friday at the North DeKalb Health Center on Clairmont Road in Chamblee and will feature health education and smoking cessation tips.
