A 77-year-old DeKalb County man with Alzheimer's disease who disappeared Saturday has been found safe, police said Monday.

A Mattie's Call was issued for Rufus Holcomb after he left his home on foot around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

An email canceling the alert was sent out Monday when Holcomb was located in good health and was returned to his home, DeKalb police said.

Authorities said Holcomb had walked away from his home before, most recently in February. At that time, he was found in Henry County.
