Those looking for a new job at the start of the new year are in luck.

DeKalb County is looking to fill nearly 140 positions, mostly in its fire and police departments.

The county will hold a public safety job fair on Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DeKalb public safety complex at 1950 West Exchange Place in Tucker.

Other openings include 911 operator, sheriff’s deputies and detention officer positions, spokesman Andrew Cauthen said. Candidates must bring a government-issued photo ID.
