Six months ago, DeKalb County’s interim CEO Lee May rolled the dice to hire a couple of famously bullheaded investigators to shine the light on his government, including his own office.

This week, the report came and things remain as muddled as they were back in March, perhaps more so.

On one hand, you have the CEO saying the guys he hired to look into his file cabinet were more interested in piling up billable hours. On the other hand, former state Attorney General Mike Bowers said May is an obstructionist and a liar – and he has the tapes to prove it.
