DeKalb County has launched three workforce initiatives using federal dollars aimed to spur hiring and retain workers.

The county’s on-the-job effort will reimburse employers up to half of a worker’s wages for a 90-day training period, while an incumbent worker program provides money to train existing workers.

The final program pairs employers directly with Manpower to identify candidates for openings. A grant will subsidize those workers’ pay for up to six months.

Information for on-the-job training: 404-371-2592. Others: 404-371-6288.
